Job Description The Banking Associate is a banking professional who delivers TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on TD products and services to help customers achieve their financial goals. Depth & Scope Performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. Delivers end-to-end advisory support: building trust with educational content, providing consultative support, and offering proactive insights and recommendations. Uses TD systems and tools to engage customers, deepen relationships, and provide guidance to attract and retain customers. Identifies customer financial needs and educates on products and services or refers to the appropriate team member. Completes everyday banking transactions on teller or platform, uncovering customer needs and educating on products and tools or referring to the appropriate expert. Serves customers on both the teller line and platform, including personal deposit accounts, debit/credit cards, regulatory knowledge, and digital banking. Engages in lead management activities, including creating and managing self-generated leads and referrals, outbound outreach, setting appointments, and prioritizing leads. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED 1 year experience working with customers in any capacity (volunteering, education, or military experience) preferred Customer service skills preferred Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Teller experience preferred Required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire Strong organizational skills for fast-paced environments Excellent communication skills Problem-solving and time management abilities Microsoft Office proficiency Notary license preferred Accountabilities Customer Accountabilities Provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting TD products, educating customers, and referring products as needed Establish and nurture customer relationships through product knowledge and needs-based conversations Manage wait times by scheduling or rescheduling appointments Serve as first point of contact for inquiries and coordinate customer flow and resolutions Understand and support TD’s customer service strategy Drive referrals to store colleagues and partners to address broader financial needs Ensure compliance with policy and procedures; complete required training Maintain adherence to compliance, risk, and control programs; respond to audit and regulatory requests Comply with TD Code of Conduct Shareholder Accountabilities Execute operational activities in line with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) Accurately process cash/deposits/withdrawals and account servicing requests Open/close accounts and perform routine servicing tasks Maintain compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures Apply customer authentication and due diligence to openings and transactions Manage cash drawers, including limits and security Follow open/close procedures and dual controls where required Employee/Team Accountabilities Contribute to a positive work environment aligned with TD culture Participate in performance and development activities Act as a brand champion and collaborate with teammates Seek opportunities to improve service delivery with quality standards Own career development and seek diverse feedback Embrace change and support TD’s commitments Mentor newer colleagues when possible Physical Requirements Work tasks include sedentary work, occasional lifting, standing, and walking.
