Line Of Business: Personal and Commercial Banking Job Description The Banking Associate is a banking professional who delivers TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. Depth & Scope Performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location; includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts and educating customers on all banking products and services Delivers end-to-end advice: building trust with educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations Utilizes TD systems to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing guidance to attract and retain customers Understands customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products/services or refer to the appropriate team member, ensuring a positive customer experience Accurately completes everyday banking transactions on teller line or platform while uncovering needs and educating on products or referring to the appropriate expert Serves customers on teller line and platform as needed, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday transactions, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, mobile and online banking Leads customer engagement and lead management activities, including self-generated leads, referrals, outbound outreach, appointments, and lead prioritization Education & Experience High school diploma or GED 1 year experience working with customers in any capacity (volunteering, education, or military experience preferred) Customer service skills preferred Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled Teller experience preferred Required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire Strong organization skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills; concise, clear and consistent Problem-solving skills and ability to schedule and prioritize work Ability to work independently and within deadlines; sound judgement Proficient in Microsoft Office Notary License preferred Customer Accountabilities Provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD products Build and nurture customer relationships through product knowledge and active listening Manage wait times and schedule/coordinate visits with bankers Serve as first point of contact for inquiries and customer resolutions or appointments Support the Bank's customer service strategy and TD Code of Conduct Drive referrals to store colleagues and partners for broader financial needs Ensure adherence to policy, procedures and training; maintain compliance with audit and regulatory requirements Shareholder Accountabilities Ensure compliance with guidelines such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk Process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests Open/close accounts and update customer information; bank card services and related tasks Comply with regulations and internal controls; maintain documentation Apply customer authentication, due diligence to new openings and transactions Manage cash drawers, security and procedures; dual control when required Follow open/close procedures Employee/Team Accountabilities Contribute to a positive work environment aligned to TD model, brand and culture Participate in performance and development activities; act as a brand champion Collaborate with team to achieve success; be a team player Seek opportunities to improve delivery and quality; manage career development Embrace change; adhere to TD’s Shared Commitments Model quality service at every customer interaction Support TD’s diversity goals and inclusive culture; may mentor newer colleagues Physical Requirements Includes various levels of activity from sedentary to frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting over 25 lbs.
