Job Description

An immediate opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support elementary school students in Tacoma, WA over the current school year (CSY) on a contract basis. This role involves collaborating with educators and therapists to develop and implement therapy plans that enhance students functional skills and support their academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in evaluating students physical and cognitive needs under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions focused on improving motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and update therapy plans accordingly.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and occupational therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.

Location:

• Tacoma, Washington Elementary school environment.
