Mig Welder

Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel to build metal structures.

Responsibilities:

• Weld and cut black carbon and galvanized steel while interpreting blueprints.
• Operate hand tools, grinders, and basic shop machinery, or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Ensure products are manufactured according to print specifications.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area in compliance with 6S leadership and standards/goals.
• Adhere to all company safety requirements.
• Read and understand schematics and blueprints with proficiency.
• Perform operations involving vehicles, mechanical devices, or equipment.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to pass 3G/4G test in MIG welding, focusing on vertical/uphill and column welds.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and tape measures.
• Strong background in flux-core welding and MIG welding.
• Experience in TIG welding is a significant advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years recent welding experience.
• Proficient in reading welding blueprints and tape measures to 1/32 inch.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs without restrictions.
• Proficient in using Windows-based computers for basic navigation tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A 2-year welding certificate is advantageous but not essential.

Work Environment:

Work in a non-climate controlled atmosphere alongside 80 other employees. The position is on the 1st shift, operating from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
