Loan Processor / Loan Admin – Mortgage Lending

📍 Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

💲 Pay: $25–28/hr | Salary Equivalent: $45–60k

📅 Duration: Ongoing temp assignment with potential to convert to perm

🕘 Schedule: Full-time, Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm (40 hrs/week)

About the Role:

Our client, a nonprofit mortgage lending organization, is seeking an experienced Loan Processor / Loan Admin to join their lending team. This is a mission-driven environment that supports affordable homeownership and multiple loan assistance programs. You’ll be part of a collaborative team of 7–8, reporting into the Deputy Director and working closely with the VP of Lending.

This role requires prior mortgage or loan processing experience and the ability to manage loan intake through post-closing, ensuring packages are complete and accurate.

Responsibilities:

• Support loan intake, processing, and post-closing functions (not underwriting)
• Review borrower documentation, including pay stubs, bank statements, and financial information
• Assist with packaging loans across multiple programs (forgivable loans, home improvement, affordable housing, manufactured housing, purchase money, etc.)
• Reconcile loan files with accounting and ensure funder requirements are met
• Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and internal systems
• Provide administrative support to lending team, handling overflow from origination to post-closing

Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in loan or mortgage processing/admin
• Strong document review and organizational skills
• Experience handling borrower financial documentation (pay stubs, bank statements)
• Familiarity with loan programs, mortgage packaging, and reconciliations a plus
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated to work in a mission-driven environment
• Able to handle high-volume caseloads and deadlines
