Job Description
The primary role of a Construction Worker is to safely and efficiently perform various physical duties on highway, heavy, and marine construction projects.The ideal candidate possess’ the following qualities and skills:Competent and proficient in using small hand toolsEnjoys getting dirty and breaking a sweatCommunicativeFriendlyDetail -orientedTeam playerStrong Time Management SkillsCapable of lifting heavy objectsEager to learnPrior experience is a plusResponsibilities:Perform various physical duties assignedHang dig trenches, hand mix/place concrete, and set trench bracing.Maintain all safety standardsMaintain a clean job site daily:pick-up all tools and equipmentsecure job siteeliminate potential hazardsMoves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads building materialsMoves tools, equipment, or other material from place to place as directed.Perform some specialized tasks which may require on-the job trainingAssists other craft workers as needed (i.e. equipment operators, cement finishers, pipe layers).Effectively use/operate a variety of hand tools such as hammers, picks, rakes and shovels and also power tools such as, jackhammers, torches, skill saws, pipe cutters, concrete mixer, water pumps, etc.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years oldTeam player with a positive attitudePass Pre-employment Assessments (includes BGC, MVR, drug test, & physical)Punctual and reliableMust have the following:valid driver’s licenseTWIC cardsteel toe work bootsreliable transportationthe ability to work in all weatherthe physical ability to complete strenuous tasksthe physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions
