POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Transcriber will provide accurate and timely meeting minutes for NOAA's in-person and virtual meetings. This role requires precision in documenting discussions and decisions while adhering to approved federal formats.

RESPONSBILITIES:

• Attend two annual in-person meetings (up to four days each) to transcribe detailed meeting minutes.
• Attend one annual virtual meeting (four hours) and produce official minutes.
• Record clear, non-scientific meeting summaries that adhere to NMFS-approved formats.
• Deliver meeting minutes to NOAA Fisheries within 14 days of in-person meetings and 30 days of virtual meetings.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with federal data handling and intellectual property requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior experience in transcription, notetaking, or professional meeting documentation.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with government or nonprofit meeting formats preferred.
• Ability to work both onsite at meeting locations and remotely for virtual events.
• Strong time management to meet strict submission deadlines.
