Voice-Over Audio Engineer II (Games) - Audio Services, Central Creative Location: Los Angeles, California, USA We are building a roster of Voice-Over Audio Engineers for our new recording studios. The VO Engineer will be scheduled on an ad-hoc, per session basis, with an anticipated 3-9 hours of work per week. As the Voice-Over Audio Engineer II in Audio Services, you’ll report to the Sr. Manager of Audio Services and be responsible for recording and editing voice-over for interactive, linear, and broadcast media across all dialog genres. You will collaborate with other VO producers, VO designers, product owners, and developers to create iconic and memorable voice-over, capturing the essence of each product you work on. Working closely with cross-team partners, you’ll ensure that our creative vision is upheld and executed to the highest standard. Responsibilities Collaborate with the VO production team to record interactive voice-over for games, ensuring the final product supports and enhances the vision and goals of the project. Record voice-over for linear content such as trailers, cinematics, and other marketing materials. Coordinate and manage remote recording sessions, set up virtual environments, maintain audio quality, and troubleshoot technical issues to support remote collaboration with voice talent. Handle mastering and editorial for select voice-over content, ensuring each project meets its specific sound quality, clarity, and tonal balance requirements while adhering to the unique specifications for both in-game and linear content. Set up and tear down sessions, maintain software and hardware, troubleshoot issues, and manage assets to support smooth recording processes. Provide consultation and technical expertise for all things related to voice-over, including gear selection, software configuration, remote recording setups, audio specifications, and quality assurance. Work closely with producers, sound designers, multimedia teams, and other departments to maintain thematic and technical consistency across both in-game and linear voice-over products. Required Experience 4+ years of experience recording and editing voice-over, with a strong focus on interactive video game dialog . Proficiency in Pro Tools. Expertise in audio engineering for voice-over across a wide variety of interactive genres and styles. Proficient in applying audio restoration techniques such as noise reduction, de-essing, and other corrective measures to enhance the quality of voice-over recordings. In-depth knowledge of the tools and techniques needed to achieve the highest professional standards in voice-over recording and editing. Understanding of the full game audio process and how voice-over can be utilized effectively in both interactive and linear contexts. Bonus Points Knowledge of voice-over precedents established in Riot’s games and media, as well as trends in the broader gaming industry. Proficiency in Reaper.
