Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Traffic to lead and manage traffic engineering components across our diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in traffic analysis, roadway design, and coordination with public agencies. This is a high-impact role requiring both technical expertise and project management acumen to ensure successful execution of traffic-related aspects throughout the project lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

• Lead traffic planning and engineering tasks from initial concept through construction

• Manage and prepare traffic impact analysis, traffic signal design, signing and striping plans, and access management studies

• Coordinate with local municipalities, TxDOT, consultants, and internal teams to obtain necessary permits and approvals

• Prepare technical reports, studies, and presentations for public meetings or regulatory submittals

• Review, assist, and oversee preparation of traffic control plans and construction sequencing related to traffic flow

• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for project deliverables

• Serve as a subject matter expert on traffic regulations, roadway standards, and municipal requirements

• Maintain strong relationships with city and county staff, and participate in project meetings

• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance in traffic design and project coordination

 

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas

• Minimum 4 years of experience in traffic engineering or roadway design

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Synchro, and traffic analysis software

• Strong knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, and TxDOT standards

Preferred:

• 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic and transportation engineering

• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) License

• Proven experience managing municipal or land development traffic projects

• Familiarity with Houston-area agencies and permitting processes
